Prasthanam is movie directed and written by Deva Katta with Sharvanad as the lead role. Movie title Prasthanam means Journey, the rise and fall of a person. The movie is about human nature with an existential treatment which revolves around social elements and the politics. Produced by Ravi Vallabheneni and also starring Jaya Prakash Reddy, Jeeva, Vannela and Sai Kumar with a very different look.
This is the second movie after Deva Katta who directed Venella in 2005. Venella was a big hit among the young movie goers. The movie grossed 5.3 Crore INR at the box office. Sharwanand, who is the lead actor of Prasthanam was also in the cast of Vennela as second leading role.
Actor Sharwanand said that he has worked hard for this film for two years. This is his second leading role after he acted as supporting role in most of the movies that he did. It is one of the most awaited movies in Telugu cinema. When 30 seconds trailer of the movie was release in December 2009, the viewers can’t wait for its release and trailer got many positive responses. The movie was set to release in April 6 but due to some technical reason, it’s now all set to release in 16 April.
