The 56th edition of Annual Filmfare awards for South will be held on 31st July at Hyderabad for the films released in the year 2008. Filmfare Awards South are the south version of the annual Filmfare Awards, and are given for films in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada language films from India.
Filmfare awards for South are given annually to honour the best talents and provide encouragement and incentive to the South Indian film industry. The awarding ceremony was originally made for commemorating Tamil films and was named as the Kollywood Paraatai.
Filmfare awards for South will be held in any one of the Southern Cities and this year the venue will be Hyderbad. This year event has been sponsered by Idea Cellular Mobile along with Filmfare magazine. The event will be a glitzy affair with top starts across south india attending the function. Sources say that Kamal Hassan has confirmed his participation in the event and it will be a big attraction.
