Writing is Vijay Lalwani’s first love and so perfect is he at that, that the script of ‘Karthik Calling Karthik’ was flawless, up until the climate forced him to alter a scene in the film. Yes you did read right, Vijay had to change just one part of the story due to weather!

Speaking on the re-written scene Vijay explains, “We shot the entire film as per the script, expect one scene which I had to re-write. The scene was when Farhan Akhtar was to propose Deepika Padukone; it was a very integral part of the film.” Vijay continues, “I knew that I had to shoot that scene in a very grand way with loads of sunshine and it had to be an outdoor shot, but because it was June it was pouring…

So, we thought to shoot the scene in October, but when we started shooting, it rained on that particular day so at the last moment we decided to shelve the plan and go ahead with the proposal in rain, that’s where I re-wrote the script.”

Looks like Vijay has really drained himself while writing the script of ‘Karthik Calling Karthik’ (no pun). Going by the buzz for the movie it seems as a favorite among the youth who are eagerly awaiting its release on 26th February 2010.

South actor Ram Charan Teja (he’s the son of Telugu Megastar Chiranjeevi) is ready to make his debut in Bollywood. Sources insist that the South sensation has been signed by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment.

Ram Charan was recommended to Farhan by Abhishek Kapoor, who had shot a commercial with him. A source says Farhan saw the actor’s latest Telugu blockbuster Magadheera and was left speechless. “He loved the film and Ram Charan’s performance. Farhan feels Ram Charan has all the qualities of an action hero. He got in touch with him and has now signed him with his production house Excel Entertainment. A script titled Haafiz was narrated to Ram Charan.”

The film will be majorly shot in Mumbai. It’s the story of two friends – the other character is yet to be cast. The movie is expected to go on the floors in April and the release is scheduled around December. “If all goes well, Chiranjeevi might play the girl’s father,” adds ours source, While the script is still being fine tuned, the plot is basically rich girlmeets-poor boy plot with a lot of action sequences. “Deepika Padukone and Kangna are the two options being considered opposite Ram Charan. The film will be made in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi,” says the source.

Ram Charan, who is currently abroad on a holiday, could not be contacted for a comment. However Farhan Akhtar said, “It would be a pleasure to work with Ram Charan. But the news that we have collaborated on a film is untrue.

Deepika Padukone

Begaluru recently had organised a charity marathon and had requested the pretty and sporty Deepika Padukone for being the celebrity guest of the event. And the result was that the event produced a whopping Rs 1.3 crore as the collection that will be used for 80 different causes.

Both the organisers and the actress were thoroughly surprised and equally glad with the huge outcome. Not only that; it is said that there was 300% rise in the registration for this marathon this year. Deepika was really pleased and said, “There was a huge turnout and I am very glad that I associated myself with an event like this. If me being there and giving an hour of my time makes such a huge difference I can help and support it. I will always be available for such events. I guess because I am from Bengaluru it has also made a difference. The marathon was very well organised and sports will always be a priority for me.”

According to sources, Deepika was only interested to do this charity and agreed to participate in the marathon free of cost.
