It’s time for bandhs and boycotts again in Telangana. The JAC of Osmania University on Monday gave a call to the students to boycott the semester examinations commencing on Tuesday.
The JAC representatives met OU vice chancellor T Tirupati Rao and appealed to him to postpone their examinations. A large number of students staged a dharna in front of the Vice-Chancellor’s office on Monday. Rao turned down their request and said the examinations would be held as usual. He, however, said those who do not write their examinations would also be promoted to the next semester.
The students unions in Kakatiya, Satavahana, Palamur and Telangana universities also announced that they would be boycotting their examinations.
The JAC called for a bandh of all educational institutions in the region on Tuesday.
